Materials Engineer Rotational Program – December 2026 Grads | Charter Steel

The Tone:
This is a full-time rotational program at Charter Steel, located in Cleveland, OH; Fostoria, OH; or Saukville, WI. What You’ll Actually Do
• Master plant operations by learning how metallurgical theories and practices are incorporated to improve processes.
• Evaluate the effect of process changes on product performance and communicate product quality data.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis for process-related defects and their effects on final products.
• Resolve customer complaints by assisting with failure analysis and metallographic interpretations.
• Drive process improvements based on detailed analysis of quality parameters data and collaboration with technical resources.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, ideally a December 2026 graduate eligible to start in January 2027.
• Experience: Related internship or prior work experience in a relevant field.
• Skills: High level of initiative for excellence, excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Demonstrated passion and intellectual curiosity within the steel industry and Materials field of study, willingness to travel as needed.
