Manager I, Business Development | Sun Life
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Sun Life, located in Hong Kong. The Manager I, Business Development will play a critical part in making life brighter for clients by ensuring products are well-positioned, channels are supported, and client needs are deeply understood, ultimately making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Achieve: Aggressively achieve new business value targets through strategic sales efforts and effective market positioning, contributing directly to the company’s growth objectives.
• Plan: Strategically plan and execute product sales initiatives designed to best position Life & Health (L&H) products in the market, ensuring strong buy-in from various distribution channels to yield optimal business results.
• Provide: Offer a balanced perspective, deep insights, and consistent feedback on the evolving needs of brokers and clients across Product development, Marketing strategies, and Operational processes to foster continuous improvement.
• Cultivate: Develop, build, and meticulously maintain robust relationships with key distribution channels and essential business partners, strengthening Sun Life’s presence and collaboration in the market.
• Deliver: Systematically arrange and provide comprehensive trainings and essential day-to-day business supports to distribution channels, empowering them with the knowledge and tools needed for success.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a Bachelor Degree holder. Candidates should operate at a Manager level, bringing core domain knowledge within the insurance or broader financial industry, coupled with a thorough understanding of insurance products and the market landscape.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience is essential. This experience must include prior engagement and management of distribution channels, specifically within banking institutions and/or brokerage firms.
• Skills: Candidates must demonstrate strong capabilities as a team player, showing an ability to work effectively with others. The role also necessitates the capacity to lead a small team when required. Proficiency in both oral and written English and Chinese is mandatory.
• Bonus: Preference will be given to candidates who possess specific knowledge of MCV business. Fluency in Mandarin, both spoken and written, is also highly preferred.
