The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Swissquote, located in South Africa, with a focus on international/offshore investments and national travel. Swissquote’s South African entity provides financial services, acting as a custodian and broker, supporting independent asset managers, and offering dedicated tools for financial intermediaries. This role is critical for growing the institutional client base, expanding market presence by acquiring new partners, and establishing lasting relationships within the offshore investment sector.

• Mission: Acquire and onboard institutional clients for offshore brokerage and custody, driving market development and establishing long-lasting relationships.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Acquisition: Lead the acquisition of Institutional clients, focusing on asset managers (Category 2), collective investment schemes, banks, LISPs, and trust companies.
• Value Proposition: Present Swissquote’s value proposition on offshore brokerage and custody across various asset classes to interested parties.
• Onboarding Management: Take full front-to-back responsibility for the client onboarding process, collaborating closely with internal experts such as legal/compliance, IT, and Back-Office.
• Strategic Development: Independently identify potential client groups and develop effective sales strategies, contributing to market development and sales targets in collaboration with the team and Head Business Development.
• Solution Expertise: Develop a solid understanding of Swissquote’s available solutions and interact with internal specialists across disciplines to provide holistic solutions for prospective partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Commerce or other relevant degree, with a strong interest in global financial markets and the offshore investment environment.
• Experience: At least 3–5 years of experience in the offshore investment world with a proven track record in Institutional business development. Work experience with offshore providers/platforms is a big plus.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of the South African Institutional market with a solid existing network, a firm grasp on AML requirements across different client types, and proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Bonus: Additional foreign languages, particularly German, are an advantage.
