The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Workday, located primarily in Pleasanton, CA, with additional US locations. Workday builds an AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, bringing finance, HR, and planning into a single enterprise cloud. This role is crucial for defining and driving an AI-first strategy within Workday’s legal application ecosystem, shaping the future of legal operations and delivering streamlined experiences for legal, compliance, and contracting teams.

What You’ll Actually Do
• AI-First Product Vision, Strategy and Roadmap: Architect and champion a long-term product roadmap for our Legal Business ecosystem, centered on AI and Machine Learning.
• Intelligent Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for initiatives in legal operations, from ideation and business case development to defining requirements and measuring ROI.
• Team Leadership & AI Culture: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product managers, fostering an AI-centric approach, continuous learning, and rapid experimentation.
• Executive & Customer Partnership: Serve as the lead advisor to legal and business leadership on the art of the possible with AI in the legal function, translating challenges into solvable problems and securing consensus.
• Ecosystem & Vendor Strategy: Evaluate and lead a portfolio of legal technology partners and vendors, ensuring our ecosystem is composed of best-in-class solutions aligned with strategic goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Principal Product Manager with deep domain expertise in core legal operations processes and a vision for how AI can fundamentally transform them.
• Experience: 12+ years in product management with a significant focus on shipping enterprise-level, technology-powered products in a B2B or SaaS environment. Consistent record of successfully integrating legal and contract management systems (preferably Workday) with other enterprise applications and data platforms.
• Skills: AI and Machine Learning, core legal operations processes (such as contract lifecycle management, matter management, compliance, e-discovery, and intellectual property), cross-team collaboration, executive presence, product roadmap definition and management.
• Bonus: Familiarity with AI technology stack and other technology market players supporting legal business; CLM or Legal-related certification(s).
