The Tone:
This is an internship at CoBank, located in Denver, CO, with a hybrid work model. CoBank is a cooperative bank that provides essential financial services to vital industries across rural America, including agribusinesses and rural power, water, and communications providers. • Mission: Assists in the documentation, execution, and reporting of operational, technological, and financial procedures to assess risk and add value to the Internal Audit team and bank operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Intern Program: Spend 10 weeks as a valued team member, gaining real-life exposure to daily duties and learning business skills.
• Capstone Project: Complete a capstone project specifically designed to add value to the Internal Audit team.
• Audit Documentation: Assist in the documentation and execution of operational, technological, and financial procedures.
• Audit Reporting: Aid in reporting and communicating audit results to relevant stakeholders.
• Risk Assessment: Partner with other CoBank divisions to perform various risk assessments, special reviews, and projects, such as creating new KPI metrics or enhancing risk tracking methodologies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Applicants must be students with expected graduation dates between December 2027 and May 2029, currently enrolled in and working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Agribusiness, or a related discipline, and in good academic standing.
• Experience: Basic understanding of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills in Excel. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience in agriculture, banking, or the financial services industry.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to perform research across multiple systems.
• Bonus: Aptitude for learning other software applications.
