The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mashreq, located in the United Arab Emirates within a multi-cultural and multi-discipline environment. Mashreq is a leading financial institution, and this position plays a pivotal role in maintaining its competitive edge by ensuring exceptional quality of service within its Trade Finance operations. The incumbent is crucial for the end-to-end management of export finance products, upholding international guidelines such as ICC publications, adhering to strict risk and control measures, and proactively adapting to global compliance and geopolitical scenarios.

• Mission: Responsible for the end-to-end management of Exports and related sub-products, ensuring compliance, risk control, and high-quality service.
• Tech Stack: Swift, Trade Finance and Financial Operating Systems, MS Office (Word/Excel/PPT)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Management: Drive the end-to-end management of Export operations and related sub-products, ensuring all communications and processes adhere strictly to Bank policies, SOPs, and applicable ICC guidelines (UCP/ISBP).
• Expert Advisory: Provide comprehensive advice and consultation to commercial customers on Export Finance, Payments, Document Checking, LCs (Advising/Confirmation/Transfer), and Collections, while also guiding the Product Development Team on Trade Finance activities in line with international practices and regulations.
• Risk & Compliance Assurance: Implement robust risk and control measures, including due diligence for priority/high-value transactions, sanction checking for relevant parties, TBML checks, and daily reconciliation of Nostro and internal accounts, ensuring zero unattended entries and proper charges recovery.
• Process Optimization & Service Quality: Drive continuous improvement by reviewing customer complaints, recommending changes to SOPs/OPMs/ADMs, leading automation projects, and taking corrective and preventive actions to enhance service levels and achieve MBOs on time.
• Team Leadership & Development: Foster a high-performing and cross-skilled team by running daily huddles, promoting collaborative problem-solving, recommending training and workshops to plug knowledge gaps, and ensuring timely and effective closure of any audit observations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A university graduate with a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Trade Finance products and functions, ready to operate at a managerial level.
• Experience: A minimum of 15-18 years of direct experience in Trade Finance, demonstrating expertise in the field.
• Skills: Strong communication, advanced interpersonal skills, keen attention to detail, robust analytical capabilities, and proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PPT). The ability to work under pressure, excellent organizational skills, and being a good team player are also essential.
• Bonus: Professional certifications such as CDCS, CITF, or CTFP are highly valued.
