Production Management Trainee | McCain Foods

The Tone:
This is a full-time regular position at McCain Foods, primarily located in Plover, Wisconsin, with opportunities across other U.S. plant locations. McCain Foods is a global family-owned company focused on creating food products from farm to fork. This role is crucial as it cultivates the next generation of manufacturing leaders through an accelerated development program. This program is designed to immerse participants in critical operations, equipping them with the leadership and technical skills needed to drive continuous improvement and support the company’s long-term success.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Regular – Full-Time
• Location: In-person Plover, WI (and other U.S. plant locations)
• Pay: $58,800.00–$78,500.00 USD annually + Bonus eligibility
• Team: Part of the operations team at the manufacturing facility, working directly with Plant Leaders.
• Mission: Cultivate the next generation of manufacturing leaders to drive continuous improvement and support the organization’s long-term success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learning: Gain knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, methods, and standards required for supervisory roles.
• Training: Complete a structured progression plan including on-the-job training, mentorship, and rotational assignments within manufacturing.
• Leadership: Organize and lead work teams within assigned focus areas, managing scheduling, safety, daily operations, and performance.
• Management: Make decisions, provide leadership, and handle administrative components within assigned roles.
• Supervision: Supervise front-line operations and complete assignments in various manufacturing process areas such as receiving, processing, and packaging.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Food Science, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams, and experience driving process improvements, productivity initiatives, and operational excellence.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of data management, statistical process control, and Lean methodologies; excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills; a commitment to developing people, fostering safe work practices, and leading with a safety-first mindset; and a strong interest in manufacturing, operations, engineering, food safety, and quality.
