The Tone:
This is a full-time Manager Trainee program at J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc., which involves potential regional relocation and travel to customer and company event locations. J.B. • Mission: To learn and contribute to the management of driver teams and freight movement, ensuring safety, compliance, and top-tier customer service for clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Driver and Carrier Relations: Learn to build and maintain strong professional relationships with drivers and reliable outside carriers to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Operational Support: Fill in for absent personnel, assist with special projects, and learn personnel management, including driver training and system assistance.
• Fleet Efficiency and Profitability: Become proficient in maximizing fleet operations efficiency, measuring key performance indicators, and preparing customer reports and financial analysis.
• Freight and Logistics Management: Learn to assign loads, plan routes, monitor freight movement, and resolve service and mechanical issues with drivers and customers.
• Administrative and Compliance Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as payroll, budget management, driver counseling, accident reviews, and ensure DOT and company safety compliance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level career with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience: Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED combined with 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience.
• Skills: Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations; ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed; and readiness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.
• Bonus: Prior experience managing a team or as an intern, strong conflict resolution and analytical skills, adaptability, excellent relationship-building abilities, and a commitment to customer service.
