Staff Accountant | NorthPoint Search Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role with a client of NorthPoint Search Group, situated in Atlanta, GA. This position is vital for a growing accounting team, providing essential support for daily operations and the accurate upkeep of financial records. The Staff Accountant will be instrumental in managing key accounting functions, from accounts payable and payroll processing to general ledger reconciliations and close support. What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Manage the processing of accounts payable, including invoice entry, credit card transactions, cash receipts, and all related accounting activity.
• Payroll and Receivables Support: Enter payroll information, assist with payroll reconciliations, and prepare monthly statements for outstanding accounts receivable.
• General Ledger Reconciliation: Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger and credit card accounts, and assist with comprehensive account analysis and discrepancy resolution.
• Financial Closing Assistance: Support month-end and year-end close procedures, aid in financial reporting, and assist with audit preparations.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation to ensure data integrity and compliance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous accounting experience that includes accounts payable, payroll processing, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, robust organizational and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to consistently meet deadlines. A solid foundational understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger processes is required, alongside a high degree of accuracy when entering, reviewing, and reconciling financial information. The role also requires professional communication skills and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data, while also being able to work independently and collaborate effectively with both accounting and operational teams.
• Bonus: Experience with Sage Intacct; strong Microsoft Excel skills.
