Accounts Receivable Specialist | Wheel the World

The Tone:
This is an entry-level role at Wheel the World, a travel technology company, working remotely. This role is crucial for supporting the day-to-day management of customer accounts, payments, invoicing, and financial records, ensuring smooth financial operations for a growing company. It offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounts receivable and grow within the finance team.

The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career
• Location: Remote – United States

• Team: Works closely with the accounting and finance teams and collaborates with other departments.
• Mission: To ensure payments are accurately recorded, invoices are properly tracked, and outstanding balances are followed up on.
• Tech Stack: Excel or Google Sheets, accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar), payment platforms or online transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoicing: Prepare and send invoices to customers, partners, and other business accounts.
• Payment Processing: Accurately record and apply customer payments.
• Account Management: Monitor outstanding invoices, reconcile customer accounts, and investigate discrepancies.
• Issue Resolution: Research and resolve payment and billing issues by coordinating with internal teams.
• Financial Support: Support monthly and year-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level role in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or administrative support.
• Experience: 0–2 years of experience; recent graduates or candidates with relevant internships are encouraged.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, comfortable working with numbers, strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to follow processes while resolving discrepancies.
• Bonus: Experience with accounts receivable or bookkeeping, familiarity with an accounting system, experience with payment platforms, or basic accounting principles.
