What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Report Review: Perform reviews of Medicaid provider cost reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze health care provider financial information to inform reimbursement calculations.
• Audit Execution: Conduct desk reviews and various on-site audits, completing all phases from planning to reporting of findings.
• Compliance Research: Conduct research to determine billing and reimbursement compliance with relevant Medicaid or other government program regulations.
• Documentation: Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions and working papers to document audit scope and findings according to standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, qualifying for an Entry-Level Staff Accountant position.
• Experience: Internship or equivalent working experience in an accounting or related field.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well-organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word
• Ability to review and apply statutory, regulatory, or other policy language
• Bonus:
• Master’s degree in accounting or a related field
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Experience with health care auditing and data analysis
• Ability to travel based on client and business needs
