Staff Accountant | Aston Carter

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Management & Transaction Processing: Prepare assets, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information, and accurately document financial transactions by assigning entries to proper accounts.
• Financial Reporting & Statement Preparation: Support and prepare Financial Statements in a timely manner, and develop reports to support board decision-making, including special financial reports that summarize account information and trends.
• Financial Analysis & Budget Monitoring: Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenue, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice, while also analyzing and monitoring the Budget Balance.
• Reconciliation & Compliance: Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information, develop and review financial reconciliations for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Taxes, and comply with all federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
• Internal Controls & Payments: Maintain financial security by following internal controls, and prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements, including computing taxes owed and preparing tax returns.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor and/or equivalent degree in Accounting or Finance or related field or combination of schooling and on the job experience.
• Experience: 0-2 years experience in Accounting.
• Skills: Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures per GAAP, MS office skills.
