Financial Accountant | Rhino Foods, Inc.

This is a full-time role for a Financial Accountant at Rhino Foods, Inc., located in Burlington, VT. • Team: Reports to the Controller within the Finance team.
• Mission: Support and ensure the accuracy and integrity of Rhino Foods’ financial operations, providing crucial financial insights and developing skills across various accounting and finance areas.
• Tech Stack: Spreadsheets, Financial systems, Microsoft applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and support accurate financial reporting, including statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and month-end and year-end close activities.
• Financial Planning: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to evaluate business performance, monitor variances, and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Asset Management: Manage comprehensive fixed asset accounting, covering tracking capital expenditures, maintaining asset records, monitoring work-in-progress projects, recording depreciation, and coordinating asset disposals.
• Business Operations Support: Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, manage insurance administration, and assist with customer credit reviews and collection efforts.
• Compliance & Integrity: Maintain the integrity of financial records, ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and support audits, regulatory reporting, and banking requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, coupled with a foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices.
• Experience: Entry-level accounting or finance experience gained through coursework, internships, co-ops, or previous work.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills; ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and apply sound judgment; clear and effective communication of financial information; comfortable utilizing spreadsheets, financial systems, and data; ability to prioritize work, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs; a collaborative approach to learning and sharing knowledge; proficiency with email, Microsoft applications, and other internal software for daily communication.
• Bonus: A willingness to learn new financial tools and technology; an interest in developing skills across various accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting areas.
