2027 Assurance Winter Intern – Affordable Housing | EisnerAmper

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at EisnerAmper, located in Columbus, OH. EisnerAmper is one of the largest accounting, tax, and business advisory firms globally, with nearly 4,500 employees and over 450 partners, encouraging new ideas and eager to make an impact. This role is within the Assurance Group, which aims to transform traditional auditing by building lasting client partnerships based on profound trust, professional integrity, and consistent results. Interns will gain valuable real-world experience, contributing directly to client engagements rather than being assigned busy work, and insight into the public accounting industry.

• Mission: To develop a working knowledge of the firm’s Assurance practices by contributing to various aspects of financial statement audits.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Participation: Work on various aspects of a financial statement audit.
• Practice Development: Develop a working knowledge of the firm’s practices in the Assurance group.
• Business Process Learning: Learn systems and business processes.
• Skill Application: Combine knowledge gained in the classroom with company training to develop on-the-job technical skills.
• Client Engagement: Work directly with seasoned professionals on client engagements under close coaching and supervision.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting, or an equivalent program from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: 0-2 years of recent public accounting experience, with availability to work in office for 40+ hours per week during business hours (8:30am – 5:30pm; Monday – Friday) starting early January 2027.
• Skills: Strong academic track record (Minimum GPA: 3.0), strong MS Excel and MS Word, strong time management and organizational skills, strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and with a team, great communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Bonus: Pursuing minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of your assigned office location, pursuing 150 academic credits or a master’s degree in accounting. Final Graduation Date of Dec 2027 – Sept 2028. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Live in commutable distance to your assigned office.
