Junior Staff Accountant | VSA Partners
The Tone:

This role is crucial for supporting the Accounting Department’s execution and processes across multiple entities, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to the team and vendors.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Evaluate: Evaluate vendor invoices, employee expense reports, contractor timesheets, and credit card charges for appropriate documentation and approval.
• Process: Process related documents, contractor timesheets/invoices, credit card charges, and payroll general ledger transactions.
• Coordinate: Coordinate the Accounts Payable payment process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.
• Analyze: Analyze vendor activity, accounts payable activities, various general ledger accounts, and overall financial accounts.
• Support: Support cash management processes, the month-end close process, and maintain accounts payable documentation for client invoicing requirements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Role involves supporting accounting department processes and applying GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
• Experience: 2+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role, with experience in evaluating and processing financial documentation.
• Skills: Proficient with email, spreadsheets (e.g., MS Office, Google docs). Ability to communicate effectively, organize information, ensure accuracy, and apply policies and procedures.
• Bonus: Experience with Microsoft 365 Business Central. Ability to think independently, proactively propose changes, and work professionally with internal and external teams. Residency within the Chicago Metro area is required.
