What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Implement public engagement and stakeholder outreach plans for assigned electric transmission projects or geographic regions.
• Facilitate: Plan, manage, and facilitate open houses, workshops, public hearings, community meetings, and stakeholder presentations.
• Develop: Create tailored engagement content, presentations, fact sheets, newsletters, and FAQs, translating complex technical details into clear language.
• Respond: Evaluate community feedback, identify emerging issues, maintain issue logs, and propose timely response strategies.
• Coordinate: Align messaging and commitments by coordinating across internal engineering, environmental, regulatory, real estate, legal, and construction teams.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public policy, environmental studies, planning, political science, community development, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
• Experience: 4-8 years of progressive experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, community relations, or communications, including demonstrated experience managing public meetings and developing outreach materials for infrastructure projects.
• Skills: Strong facilitation, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, stakeholder relationship management databases, and project trackers; valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25% for site visits and public meetings.
• Bonus: Direct experience with electric transmission, utility, renewable energy, or linear infrastructure permitting processes; experience engaging landowners, municipal governments, elected officials, and regulatory agencies; deep experience with environmental justice, equity-focused engagement, or Tribal consultation; multilingual skills relevant to project service areas.
