Winter 2027 Tax Intern, National Office (State and Local Tax) | Armanino
The Tone:
This is a Winter 2027 internship at Armanino, primarily located in California (Southern and Northern regions) with a potential hybrid work arrangement, operating within one of the top 20 largest firms in the nation. Armanino aims to integrate personal life with career, providing resources to support skill building and professional networking. This role offers hands-on experience, providing interns with direct insight into public accounting practices and the same exposure as associate-level hires.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Hybrid, California (Southern and Northern regions)
• Pay: $36–$37 hourly
• Mission: Support clients by preparing various tax returns, researching tax regulations, and assisting with diverse client engagements while developing core accounting skills.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Draft and complete corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns for various clients, including estimates and extensions.
• Regulatory Research: Stay current with federal and state tax regulations and develop tax planning skills.
• Client Engagements: Contribute to client projects across multiple industries as both an individual and team member.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate regularly with professional teams on client projects using various channels like meetings, chat, and email.
• Software Development: Enhance proficiency in accounting software through instructor-led courses, self-guided learning, and on-the-job training.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in business with an emphasis in accounting.
• Experience: Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Skills: Tax preparation, tax regulation research, client project support, team communication, accounting software utilization.
• Bonus: Plan to complete the 150 semester/225 quarter unit requirement for CPA licensure eligibility between December 2027 – August 2028 strongly preferred.
