The Tone:
This is a hybrid Accountant I role, based within a commutable distance to our Grand Rapids, Michigan office. This Accountant I role is an integral part of the Finance team, responsible for critical entry-level accounting tasks that directly support the financial operations of our expanding organization. The accurate maintenance of financial records, timely reporting, and account reconciliation are vital functions this role performs to ensure compliance and support the company’s continued growth and future building initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Records Management: Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial records, ledgers, and various reports to ensure data accuracy and integrity across financial operations.
• General Ledger Support: Assist proactively with general ledger entries, conduct account reconciliations, and contribute to efficient month-end closing procedures.
• Compliance and Auditing: Support internal audits and financial reviews as needed, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Transaction Processing: Accurately record and manage financial transactions within designated accounting software systems, maintaining detailed and organized records.
• Budgeting Assistance: Provide support in budgeting and forecasting activities, contributing essential data and analysis to the financial planning processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience: Up to two years of accounting experience, including internships or other entry-level positions, is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar), coupled with strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the capacity to work effectively within a team.
