The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Home Franchise Concepts, located in Flower Mound, TX. Home Franchise Concepts is one of the largest franchising systems in the home improvement goods and services space, supporting multiple top-rated brands. As a Staff Accountant, you will maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and fixed asset accounting functions. Your work is critical for ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and supporting financial reporting across a multi-brand organization.

• Mission: Owns maintaining the accuracy and integrity of general ledger and fixed asset accounting functions within a multi-brand organization to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and support financial reporting.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, NetSuite (or another enterprise accounting/ERP system)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain financial accuracy: Ensure the integrity of assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies, preparing and posting all necessary journal entries.
• Perform monthly reconciliations: Conduct monthly account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of all reconciling items for assigned accounts.
• Manage fixed assets: Oversee the fixed asset lifecycle, including processing additions, transfers, disposals, calculating monthly depreciation, and monitoring Construction-in-Progress (CIP) projects.
• Support financial reporting: Analyze financial transactions, prepare supporting schedules and variance analyses for financial statements, and assist with monthly accrual calculations.
• Aid in audit processes: Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and respond to auditor requests to support both internal and external audits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
• Experience: 1+ year of relevant accounting experience, specifically in general ledger, month-end close, or fixed asset accounting, ideally in a multi-company environment.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas, lookups, PivotTables), strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Experience with NetSuite or a similar enterprise accounting/ERP system, experience identifying and implementing accounting process improvements, and advanced Excel skills (Macros/VBA).
