College Intern, Accounts Payable | Salt River Project

The Tone:
This is an internship at Salt River Project, located in Tempe, AZ. • Mission: Assist in the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and financial data entry to support financial operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding and approval.
• Data Entry: Enter and maintain accurate and complete financial data in accounting software.
• Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment issues.
• Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and records.
• Reporting: Generate accounts payable reports and summaries for management review.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required, along with current enrollment in a degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and a basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bonus: Must be enrolled and attending a minimum of six (6) college credits per semester (100+ level courses).
