Associate, Foreign Exchange Trade Support | Capital One
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Capital One, located within 50 miles driving distance of one of the hubs in Charlotte, NC, Richmond, VA, or Plano, TX. Capital One’s Commercial Client Operations (CCO) is a large division within the Commercial Bank that supports numerous critical processes and transactions, creating an unparalleled experience through innovation and technology. This role is within the impactful Capital Markets Derivatives Operations (CMDO) team, which provides operational support for the Commercial Bank’s Commodities, FX, and Interest Rate Derivatives Desks. You will be instrumental in ensuring efficient and accurate transactions and lifecycle processing, contributing to scale, efficiency, operational risk management, and client experience.

• Mission: Provides operational support and trade capture for Foreign Exchange derivative products, ensuring efficient and accurate transactions and lifecycle processing across a broad range of products and services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Trade Affirmation: Work on trade confirmation details, resolve discrepancies, and liaise with Commercial Clients and Major Institutions to ensure trades are affirmed.
• Transaction Processing: Book and amend FX derivative trades into the booking system and perform daily trade booking and checkouts with the Front Office.
• Regulatory Compliance: Report Real Time & Primary Economic terms to the SDR (DTCC) in compliance with Dodd Frank expectations and manage regulatory related reporting and activities for Swap Dealer requirements.
• Financial Operations: Liaise with the Settlement team on all cash flow items, assist in resolving clients’ outstanding payments, and generate, analyze, and submit for approval daily Flash P&L reports.
• System & Process Improvement: Participate in testing for system enhancements, formulate user requirements and procedures to implement functional solutions, and develop and manage controls.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification. Foundational understanding of financial services operations.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience working in financial services and at least 1 year of experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office or Google Suite, strong attention to detail in trade processing, and effective communication for internal and external liaison.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience; 2+ years of experience with Foreign Exchange Products; 2+ years of experience with market data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv); 2+ years of experience with Financial Settlement Instructions or SWIFT; 2+ years of experience with Swaps and Derivatives Products; 2+ years of experience working on QA or UAT testing and audits; 2+ years of experience with Swap Dealer regulations and DTCC; 2+ years of experience with Excel (V-lookup, Pivot Tables, Macros).
