Accelerated Leadership Development Program – Research & Development Path – Chassis Mechatronics | Schaeffler

The Tone:
This is a full-time, early career role within the Accelerated Leadership Development Program at Schaeffler, based initially in Troy, MI, with subsequent rotations across North America and potential international locations. Schaeffler is a global technology company, recognized for its entrepreneurial spirit and long history of private ownership, partnering with major automobile manufacturers, aerospace, and industrial sectors. This program is specifically designed to cultivate future leaders within the Research & Development path, providing extensive cross-departmental exposure and hands-on experience focused on Chassis Mechatronics to ensure sustained success for the company.

• Mission: Develop into a leader at Schaeffler within the Research & Development path, gaining diverse experience in Chassis Mechatronics.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Engage in four distinct six-month rotations across Schaeffler facilities throughout the North American Region, with the possibility of international assignments, commencing the first rotation in Troy, MI.
• Leadership Mentorship: Partner directly with an experienced professional leader to actively develop and implement best practices, fostering personal growth towards becoming a leader at Schaeffler.
• Cross-Functional Learning: Gain in-depth knowledge and insights alongside experts in various relevant and cross-functional departments, leveraging a 70:20:10 training model that emphasizes hands-on experience, mentoring, and formal training.
• Skill Development: Utilize provided leadership training and tools to systematically develop advanced leadership skills, concurrently completing all required rotation development milestones.
• Career Preparation: Prepare thoroughly for and transition into a guaranteed permanent position in Troy, MI upon successful graduation from the Accelerated Leadership Program.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering or Engineering Technology field, suited for an entry-level position.
• Experience: At least two rotations of relevant co-ops or internships, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Skills: Thorough understanding of engineering principles; excellent organization and communication skills; strong Microsoft Office skills; willingness to relocate every 6 months.
• Bonus: Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred, leadership experience or exposure preferred.
