Manufacturing Leadership Program (Supply Chain & Operations) – Class of 2027 | General Dynamics Mission Systems
The Tone:
This is a full-time, early-career role at General Dynamics Mission Systems, located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The company engineers high-technology solutions, products, and services for defense and scientific missions, applying advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Native. This position is vital for developing and advancing the operational and supply chain capabilities that support critical defense missions, while building future technical and operational leaders through a structured rotational program.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Support: Support production planning, scheduling, and capacity alignment activities to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.
• Supply Chain Optimization: Analyze and optimize supply chain performance, including inventory and material flow, while assisting with procurement and supplier coordination.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational workflows using Lean and Six Sigma principles and data analytics.
• Process Development: Develop and improve manufacturing processes, methods, and tooling, supporting production readiness and the introduction of new products.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and program management teams to resolve technical issues and improve cost, schedule, and service metrics.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field is required.
• Experience: This is an early-career rotational development program. Demonstrated leadership experience is required, and participants are required to pursue a company-sponsored Master’s degree for program completion.
• Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Candidates must show high motivation and initiative, coupled with a strong interest in supply chain systems, operations, and business analytics.
• Bonus: A GPA of 3.6 or higher is preferred. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance is preferred at the time of hire.
