Fuel Accounting Clerk | Maverik, Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Maverik, Inc., located at the Salt Lake City Headquarters. Maverik operates extensive fuel operations, and this role plays a critical behind-the-scenes part in managing those activities. This position is vital for ensuring the accuracy of fuel billing, timely vendor payments, and robust financial reporting, directly contributing to compliance and audit-readiness within Maverik’s fuel operations.

• Mission: Ensure accurate documentation, billing, and reconciliation of fuel deliveries to maintain precise financial records and efficient fuel accounting processes.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Process fuel supplier invoices, including verifying all proper supporting documentation.
• Order Entry: Accurately enter driver fuel delivery orders to prepare for customer billing.
• Billing Verification: Ensure driver paperwork matches delivery reports and that the fuel load is billed to the correct store location.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate filing of bill of ladings, invoices, and delivery tickets.
• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor payments and assist the manager with period reconciliation and miscellaneous audits.
• Communication: Communicate with stores and drivers to assure documentation accuracy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with core domain knowledge in accounting, finance, accounts payable, or related financial operations.
• Experience: 1+ years of relevant experience, specifically working with invoices, documentation, and financial records.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail for processing and reconciling high-volume transactions, along with effective communication skills for collaborating with internal and external teams.
• Bonus: An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; experience with fuel accounting, logistics, or inventory-related billing; familiarity with reconciliations, audits, or period-end close processes.
