• Team: US Actuarial Development Program (ADP) within the Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) team, specifically SBR Actuarial.
• Mission: This person helps manage the SBR inforce block of business by performing actuarial calculations, data analysis, and risk evaluations, while progressing towards an FSA designation.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Python, SQL, R
What You’ll Actually Do
• Actuarial Analysis: Be responsible for calculations, data analysis, and risk evaluations that are actuarial in nature within the SBR inforce block of business.
• Research & Recommendations: Initiate, organize, and coordinate data to make informed recommendations to team members based on comprehensive research.
• Professional Development: Prepare for and take challenging actuarial exams administered through the Society of Actuaries (SOA) to achieve the FSA designation.
• Project Management: Manage both business-as-usual (BAU) work and ad hoc projects, addressing requests from internal business partners and external partners like brokers.
• Collaboration & Presentation: Work closely with colleagues and leaders across the SBR business, present projects to Senior Management, and contribute to an ongoing reporting automation initiative.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, or another analytical/business-related degree. Committed to completing the Society of Actuaries’ educational requirements to attain the FSA designation.
• Experience: Passed at least one SOA actuarial exam, with additional passed exams preferred. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
• Skills: Must have strong mathematical, analytical, and computer/technical skills, with proficiency in Excel.
• Bonus: Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R. Demonstrates strong critical thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and exceptional organizational skills.
