Finance Development Program – Analyst (July 2027 Start) | Grainger

The Tone:
This is a full-time, three-year rotational program role at Grainger, located in a hybrid setup combining remote work with in-office work in downtown Chicago and/or Lake Forest, IL. Grainger is a leading broad line distributor, serving over 4.5 million customers worldwide with products and solutions, and generated $17.2 billion in 2024 revenue. This program offers recent graduates and early-in-career professionals a unique opportunity to develop the financial, analytical, digital, and end-to-end thinking skills essential for a successful finance career. Through diverse rotations, participants will gain broad exposure to various areas of corporate finance within a large, established organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate in a three-year rotational program, gaining broad exposure to corporate finance areas such as Operations, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A.
• Utilize and develop technical skills with visualization tools such as PowerBI, SQL, R, or Python for data analysis.
• Apply AI technology and tools to drive continuous improvement and productivity initiatives within finance processes.
• Directly influence business decisions across multiple divisions within Grainger through financial analysis and insights.
• Engage in extensive professional development, including a comprehensive onboarding, structured technical trainings, executive meet and greets, and formal mentorship.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business or STEM-related discipline, with an expected graduation before June 2027, but no sooner than 2 years prior. Requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Experience: 1–2 years of related work experience if not a recent graduate. No visa sponsorships are required now or in the future for this role.
• Skills: Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to summarize data into information, reach logical conclusions, and evaluate processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the comfortability to collaborate with all levels of the organization. Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, and actively participate in or lead projects. Experience with Excel, various data structures, and the ability to create ad-hoc databases for financial modeling.
• Bonus: Working knowledge and/or experience with AI tools and automation. A continuous improvement-mindset through processes and technology. Ability to adapt agile methodology and principles in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
