Wholesale Marketing Manager | HSBC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HSBC Global Asset Management, located in Hong Kong. The company builds and manages diverse investment solutions for clients worldwide. This role is crucial for defining and executing a strategic event calendar across Hong Kong and Mainland China. By delivering high-quality client experiences, the Wholesale Marketing Manager will directly support business growth, deepen client engagement, and promote the HSBC Global Asset Management brand effectively in these key markets.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy: Define the event strategy and calendar across Hong Kong and Mainland China to deliver high-quality client experiences that foster business growth, deepen client engagement, and promote the brand.
• Execution: Own the end-to-end execution of events, including managing external stakeholders such as venues, event organizers, trade publishers, production houses, and printers.
• Curation: Understand client and sales team needs, combined with market trends, to provide curated events.
• Analysis: Measure and manage event costs, assess effectiveness, and evaluate the return on investment (ROI).
• Compliance: Manage internal stakeholder relationships, including compliance, risk, and branding teams, to ensure all regulations, policies, and global standards are consistently met.

The Must-Haves
• Background: University graduate. This role is designated for a professional at a Manager level, requiring a strong foundation in event management.
• Experience: Significant and demonstrated experience in event management, crucial for a Manager-level role.
• Skills:
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, demonstrating a meticulous, deadline-oriented, and detailed approach to execution.
• Regulatory Acumen: Good knowledge of the regulations specific to mutual funds and/or Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).
• Market Understanding: Comprehensive knowledge of mutual funds and/or ETFs, coupled with an understanding of the broader marketing landscape.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, essential for engaging diverse client bases.
• Technical Proficiency: Excellent command of essential software, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and email marketing tools.
• Bonus: Prior experience in event management specifically within the asset management and/or financial industry is preferred. Additionally, candidates should possess good inter-personal skills and the proven ability to collaborate effectively with teams from various backgrounds.
