The Tone:
This is a temp-to-hire Bookkeeper role for a nonprofit client, located in downtown Baltimore, MD. The client is a mission-driven organization seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional who values a collaborative environment and leverages technology to enhance efficiency. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule and the unique opportunity to transition into a permanent role, contributing to the organization’s financial integrity and operational improvements.

• Team: Collaborates with the Accounting Manager and operations team
• Mission: This person owns the day-to-day bookkeeping functions, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting accounting automation to improve efficiency for a nonprofit client.
• Tech Stack: Bill.com, Sage Intacct (preferred), financial systems, automated workflows
What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Process and enter invoices accurately and timely.
• Accounts Payable Support: Support Accounts Payable activities using Bill.com.
• Bookkeeping Functions: Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions.
• Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Research and resolve discrepancies while ensuring data accuracy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience, with required nonprofit accounting experience.
• Experience: Experience working with financial systems and automated workflows.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Bonus: Experience with fund accounting, Sage Intacct, and Bill.com.
