The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Venteon’s client, a large distribution company, located in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. As a Financial Analyst, you will join their finance team in a critical support capacity, playing a key role in essential financial processes like month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting. This position is vital for providing accurate financial insights and operational reporting to multiple business units. Your work will directly contribute to identifying financial risks and opportunities, ensuring that production spending and efficiency align with strategic plans.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To provide robust financial analysis and planning, enabling informed decision-making and proactive management of operational performance and financial outcomes.
• Tech Stack: Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, SUMIF), large ERP system

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Support month-end close activities, including monthly financial statement analysis and preparation, and generate operations reports for various business units.
• Planning: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and update financial forecasts on a monthly basis or as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Business Unit teams to proactively identify and address financial risks and opportunities.
• Analysis: Maintain and perform detailed analysis on production spending and efficiency, comparing actuals against planned figures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-5 years of finance experience gained within a mid-sized or large company. Working knowledge of a large ERP system is required.
• Skills: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as Pivot Tables, Vlookup, and SUMIF formulas.
