The Tone:
This is an internship at City of Saratoga Springs, located in Saratoga Springs. The City of Saratoga Springs Fire Department provides essential emergency services to its community, including responding to various alarms and incidents to protect life and property. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore a career in emergency services by actively participating in the daily operations of a municipal fire department. What You’ll Actually Do
• Emergency Response: Respond directly to a wide array of critical emergency calls, including but not limited to structural fire alarms, medical emergencies requiring immediate attention, incidents involving hazardous materials, complex urban search and rescue operations, and challenging wildland fires, providing essential support to senior personnel.
• Life & Property Protection: Actively engage in various other calls for service that are crucial to safeguarding life and preserving property within the Saratoga Springs community, contributing to overall public safety efforts.
• Prevention & Preparedness: Participate meaningfully in fire prevention initiatives to educate the public and reduce risks, alongside engaging in comprehensive training programs designed to develop essential emergency response skills and knowledge.
• Operational Maintenance: Execute routine and necessary maintenance tasks for the fire station facilities and all emergency equipment, ensuring that all tools and apparatus are in optimal working condition and readily available for immediate deployment during calls for service.
