Service Intern- College | HOLT CAT

The Tone:
This is an entry-level internship at HOLT CAT, located in Corpus Christi, Texas. HOLT CAT is seeking an intern for its Power Systems Division to gain practical experience and foundational knowledge. This role is crucial for individuals looking to develop an understanding of diesel technology and the overall operation of their assigned department. You will receive direct guidance from the Service Manager, fostering a strong learning environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Corpus Christi, TX
• Team: Reports to the Service Manager within the Power Systems Division
• Mission: To learn and develop an understanding of diesel technology and the overall operation of the assigned department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn Diesel Technology: Attend required safety meetings and training, work on self-development, and receive coaching to understand diesel technology and departmental operations.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Adhere to all applicable safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
• Perform Equipment Service: Conduct various maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and machine components.
• Support Technical Operations: Assist with the installation, repair, and replacement of mechanical and electronic components, wiring, piping, and tubing using appropriate tools.
• Ensure Equipment Functionality: Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to verify proper functioning and ensure operational readiness.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Currently actively enrolled in a College or Technical School, studying Diesel Technology, Ag Mechanics, or a similar program.
• Experience: Basic computer skills.
• Skills: Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, good written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills, basic math calculations, and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructions.
