The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Pilgrim’s, located within one of their plant facilities. • Team: Supports the safety and occupational health team
• Mission: To identify safety gaps, improve process efficiency, and assist in accident and illness prevention programs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Development: Assist in improving accident and illness prevention programs and developing ergonomics programs.
• Safety Assessment: Conduct hazard and risk assessments and perform regular plant safety inspections.
• Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and submit safety reports to management and ensure compliance with safety laws and company policies.
• Incident Management: Investigate accidents and track corrective actions.
• Equipment Safety: Review and approve new or modified equipment for safety standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a four-year university or pursuing a bachelor’s degree; Entry-Level.
• Experience: Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Skills: Ability to lift 50 lbs or more; analytical skills for hazard assessment and accident investigation; organizational skills for managing programs and reports; strong communication for promoting safety awareness.
• Bonus: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
