The Tone:
This is a full-time, permanent role with a large, national corporation, located in Syosset, NY. This new Junior Accountant position is a direct result of the company’s sustained growth. The individual in this role will become an integral part of the accounting team, actively participating in crucial daily accounting activities and month-end closing procedures. This opportunity is designed to provide an early career professional with a comprehensive range of accounting experiences, including involvement in the month-end close process and financial statement preparation, contributing significantly to the financial health and reporting of the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Operations: Perform daily accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Month-End Close: Contribute to month-end closing processes and related accounting work.
• Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of financial statements.
• Audit Support: Serve as a primary resource for the external audit firm on various matters.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is the minimum educational requirement for this early-career position.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in bookkeeping or accounting is required to ensure foundational knowledge.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for daily tasks. Candidates must also demonstrate a mature and motivated disposition, along with the ability to take direction effectively and quickly assimilate into new processes.
• Bonus: Prior experience working with a General Ledger (G/L) system is highly preferred and will be a significant advantage.
