• Team: Supports accounting and settlement activities for natural gas pipeline and storage operations, collaborating with Commercial, Contracts, Scheduling, Measurement, and other business groups.
• Mission: To prepare and analyze invoices and settlements, support month-end close, resolve accounting issues, and assist with regulatory reporting to ensure accurate and compliant financial results for natural gas operations.
• Tech Stack: Micro and/or mainframe applications, spreadsheet and word processing software applications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare Financial Records: Prepare various journal entries, records, and budget information, as well as regulatory reports and documentation for state and federal agencies.
• Manage Settlements and Receivables: Perform core accounting functions related to customer accounting, accounts receivable reconciliations, and the preparation and analysis of natural gas pipeline and storage invoices and settlements.
• Conduct Financial Analysis: Verify and perform diverse financial calculations, including ratios, percentages, discounts, depreciation, allocations, and account charges, ensuring accuracy across financial data.
• Support Compliance & Audits: Assist with the preparation of tax returns and supporting tax calculations, contribute to regulatory reporting, and provide essential information and assistance to auditors and governmental staff.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with Commercial, Contracts, Scheduling, Measurement, and other internal business groups to research and resolve accounting issues, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial results.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or another related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience. This role performs routine accounting duties.
• Experience: Practical experience in using office equipment, including computers and applicable software, particularly micro and/or mainframe applications for financial data preparation and verification.
• Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of standard accounting methods and procedures, financial accounting and reporting standards and processes, corporate tax functions including preparation of returns, and economic forecasting/modeling with corporate budget functions. Proven ability to apply math and algebraic formulas for various financial calculations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Ability to research, compose, and interpret reports, correspondence, governmental regulations, and accounting publications.
