Broadcast Inventory Specialist | TEGNA
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at TEGNA, with work-from-home flexibility for candidates located in any TEGNA market. TEGNA Inc. empowers local communities by delivering trusted local news and essential services through its network of 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, reaching over 100 million people monthly. This role is crucial to the TEGNA Commercial Operations team, ensuring precise management of commercial inventory to maximize revenue and deliver positive results for both stations and clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Utilize WideOrbit Traffic software to accurately preempt or place commercial spots on broadcast logs.
• Finalize: Ensure daily log finalization deadlines are met and proactively clear oversold inventory up to 13 weeks in advance.
• Verify: Confirm the broadcast log is optimized for revenue, adhering to all product and advertiser separation requirements.
• Collaborate: Work with TCO and station teams to identify and communicate potential revenue opportunities to the sales department.
• Process: Handle sales orders and support the sales team in achieving accurate order entry.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma is required, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity for those eager to learn.
• Experience: No specific prior experience is strictly required, as TEGNA is willing to train the right candidate. Broadcasting, cable, or radio traffic or sales support experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to thrive in a deadline-driven environment are all essential.
• Bonus: An undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, and prior knowledge of the WideOrbit traffic system are advantageous.
