The Tone:
This is an early career, technical management associate program at Gerdau North America, located in Charlotte, NC. Gerdau is a major steel manufacturing company operating in 10 countries and employing over 30,000 individuals, with North American divisions producing long and special steel products. The company stimulates the economy through its network of recycling operations and mills, utilizing efficient and clean production practices including electric arc furnace technology to make green steel. This role is part of the G.Future program, designed to develop the company’s next generation of leaders, empowering individuals who will build the future of the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Problem Solving: Be responsible for solving large and small-scale problems, including creating mechanical components/assembly drawings and proposing business methods to optimize product output and redirect process prioritization to improve current production standards.
• Strategic Leadership: Work as a leader managing the strategic implementation for overall business goals.
• Mentorship & Integration: Benefit from a unique Mentorship Program with a seasoned professional who will facilitate integration, impart technical knowledge, provide business vision, and help build a successful career within Gerdau.
• Industry Acumen: Gain in-depth knowledge of the business from end to end by visiting customers and suppliers, while also developing a holistic view of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America and traveling across the US and Canada.
• Skill Development: Further your development by interacting with other G.Futures from across North America to tackle organizational challenges and cultivate a robust set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other applicable engineering fields, recently completed or in the process of completing the degree before the program starts (within the last two years).
• Experience: Entry-level career, with a preference for applicants who have degree-related internship experience.
• Skills: Demonstrated high learning agility and a willingness to continuously adapt and develop throughout the program.
• Bonus: A record of strong academic achievement (minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or higher) and participation in leadership roles within student organizations or extra-curricular activities. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment and willing to travel within the United States.
