2027 Engineering Leadership Development Program | Gerdau North America

The Tone:
This is a leadership development program at Gerdau North America, located in Midlothian, TX. Gerdau is a major steel manufacturer, operating in 10 countries and employing over 30,000 individuals, known for producing long and special steel products using efficient and clean electric arc furnace technology. The G.Future program is designed to develop future leaders for the company, offering meaningful work, continuous development, and opportunities to shape a career forged with purpose. Participants will be empowered to grow, thrive, and make a difference within a culture built on trust and teamwork.

The TL;DR
• Role: Leadership Development Program
• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person Midlothian, TX

• Departments: Melt Shop, Logistics, Continuous Improvement, Scrap
• Mission: To develop future managerial and technical leaders for Gerdau through an intensive 12-month program utilizing on-the-job learning, training, coaching, and mentorship.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Problem Solving: Solve large- and small-scale problems, including creating mechanical components/assembly drawings or proposing business methods to optimize product output.
• Strategic Leadership: Work as a leader managing the strategic implementation for overall business goals.
• Business Immersion: Gain in-depth knowledge of the business by visiting customers and suppliers.
• Holistic Acumen: Acquire a holistic view of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America and traveling to various locations throughout the US and Canada.
• Skill Development: Grow a set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills through an intensive program and interactions with other G.Futures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Automation, Material Sciences/Metallurgy, Transportation, Management, Administration, or other applicable degrees. Entry-Level career.
• Experience: Bachelor’s graduate from within the past 3 years, or expected to graduate by Summer 2027, with a maximum of 3 years full-time work experience.
• Skills: Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5), a high learning agility, willingness to adapt and develop continuously, and legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment.
• Bonus: Preferred GPA 3.0 or above, degree-related internship experience, well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities, and ability to travel to various locations within the United States and Canada during the program.
