Wealth Management Academy Professional – Orlando – July/October Cohorts | Charles Schwab

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Charles Schwab, located in Orlando, FL. Charles Schwab is a leading financial services organization committed to empowering individuals to take ownership of their financial futures through comprehensive wealth management and advice. The Wealth Management Academy is a cornerstone initiative, designed to cultivate future financial planning professionals. This role is crucial in building the foundation for a long-term career, ensuring that Schwab’s clients receive expert guidance and support from well-trained advisors who embody the company’s client-first approach.

• Team: Wealth & Advice Solutions, transitioning to Schwab Wealth Advisory (SWA) Centralized Service Team.
• Mission: To build a foundation for a long-term career in wealth management by developing market knowledge, client-centered judgment, and consultative confidence to effectively serve clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Licensing & Development: Earn required FINRA licenses by studying for and passing the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 exams during the initial 3-4 months, while developing discipline and learning strategies for a regulated environment.
• Client Support: Build foundational advice and service capabilities by assisting clients with trading and service needs through inbound phone, chat, and digital interactions, learning to explain concepts and deliver solutions.
• Business Exposure: Complete rotations across Wealth & Advice Solutions businesses, gaining exposure to Schwab’s advice models, products, and service strategies, and deepening understanding of team collaboration.
• Skill Enhancement: Strengthen consultative and professional skills through live client interactions, coaching, and wealth management training that reinforce Schwab’s need-based, client-first approach.
• Career Path: Transition into a role on the Schwab Wealth Advisory (SWA) Centralized Service Team upon successful completion of the Academy, serving as an ambassador for Schwab and laying a foundation for future career growth.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university. This is an early career position, seeking individuals with a strong interest in pursuing a career in financial planning and advice, motivated to engage in client conversations within a service- and performance-focused environment.
• Experience: Completed or currently enrolled in CFP Board-approved coursework is required. The role also requires the ability to travel occasionally, though less than 10% of the year.
• Skills: Demonstrated passion for helping others, active listening, empathy, and ability to build rapport. Strong capability to explain information clearly and respectfully, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in conversations that make clients feel heard. Willingness to ask questions, process new information, apply learning effectively, and adapt in changing environments, while also being receptive to guidance and feedback for professional growth. Openness to working collaboratively with teammates, mentors, and leaders.
