Senior Global Financial Analyst | Allianz
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Allianz, located in Munich, Germany, with a hybrid working model. Allianz Commercial serves as the Group’s hub for insuring mid-sized businesses, large enterprises, and specialized risks globally. This role is crucial for delivering financial insights and analysis that directly inform strategic decision-making for senior leadership, helping to manage the financial performance of a global commercial insurer. You will contribute to financial planning, reporting, and performance management within a collaborative and international team.

• Mission: Own the planning, reporting, and analysis for an area of responsibility, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for confident decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Provide regular and ad-hoc financial analysis for your area, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities, and presenting conclusions with robust financial commentary.
• Management: Manage regular reporting, forecasting, and planning processes, ensuring alignment with both customer and global requirements.
• Harmonisation: Drive best practice sharing, global standard setting, and harmonisation, aligning and coordinating your area of responsibility with other CFO colleagues.
• Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally across the business to enhance overall understanding and identify opportunities to improve and streamline reporting processes.
• Coordination: Coordinate global processes, ensuring consistency and quality across financial reporting and planning activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Master’s degree or excellent tertiary qualification, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry or management consultancy, ideally with property and casualty insurance or reinsurance background, with proven experience in planning and performance management of financial statements.
• Skills: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; strong analytical thinking and numeracy, with the ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex data; confidence communicating financial results to a variety of stakeholders; strong finance and insurance knowledge, including consolidation processes and legal versus management views.
• Bonus: Knowledge of reporting tools such as SAP; openness to using digital and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis; fluent German or another local language; experience applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making.
