Business Development Coordinator (Temporary – Internship) | August Brook Co

August Brook is seeking to expand its client base by connecting with local businesses, brands, models, and individuals whose projects align with its aesthetic. This role is fundamental to the company’s growth, serving as the initial point of contact for potential clients and ensuring a smooth transition to consultation with the owner. It is a low-hour commitment perfect for an undergraduate or early career student looking for practical experience.

• Mission: This person is responsible for being the engine behind August Brook’s client growth by proactively identifying and engaging high-quality leads and scheduling them for consultations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Targeted Prospecting: Identify and research potential paid clients (local businesses, brands, models, and individual projects) that align with August Brook’s aesthetic and target market.
• Outreach Execution: Conduct outbound messaging across key platforms such as Email, LinkedIn, and Instagram, strictly adhering to established brand guidelines and using provided outreach templates.
• Lead Qualification: Serve as the initial point of contact for both inbound and outbound responses, screening prospective clients for basic project alignment, their proposed timeline, and budget fit.
• Scheduling & Intake: Manage the initial scheduling process for discovery calls and diligently send pre-consultation confirmation details to ensure all client meetings are productive and well-prepared.
• Pipeline Tracking: Maintain an organized tracking sheet, utilizing tools like a CRM or Google Sheets, to accurately log lead status, record all outreach activity, and manage upcoming follow-ups.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. This role is designed for undergraduate or early career college students who are at least 18 years of age. Must reside in the Houston/Richmond area.
• Experience: No prior professional sales or business experience is required for this position.
• Skills: Demonstrated clear, polite, and confident written communication skills, including the ability to draft professional emails and direct messages with proper grammar and tone. Strong organizational abilities and effective time management skills are essential, alongside responsiveness to updates and the capacity to independently manage deadlines around academic commitments. A proactive and curious mindset is crucial for researching target audiences, identifying opportunities, and authentically representing the brand.
• Bonus: Participation in extracurricular activities such as school clubs, student government, debate teams, or DECA. Previous experience in customer-facing part-time jobs is also considered a plus.
