Overheard Internship – University Campus Social Media Manager | Doing Things

The Tone:
This is a remote internship for the Overheard University Campus Correspondent Program. Doing Things is seeking college students to join their program, which focuses on capturing and sharing the unique shared experiences of university campuses. This role is crucial for becoming the recognizable face of your campus for Overheard, dishing out the dirt and hot takes on college life to help build a brand around authentic student perspectives.

• Mission: To capture and share the hyper-specific shared experience of a university campus for Overheard’s audience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Creation: Produce three short-form videos each month that highlight the most humorous and relatable aspects of college life.
• Diverse Media Production: Develop a variety of content including street interviews, talk-to-camera segments, campus vlogs, static images, and written posts, guided by a content calendar.
• Trend Reporting: Identify and report on campus trends, established traditions, and significant events to inform and influence future content strategy.
• Brand Building: Work with an experienced content team to understand and contribute to the process of building a brand in the content creation industry.
• Program Growth: Participate in opportunities to collaborate with brand partners and expand the reach and scope of the Campus Correspondent Program.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be a current college student with the ability to receive internship credit. Possesses a deep understanding of campus culture and common stereotypes.
• Experience: Comfortable appearing on camera and confident in approaching strangers to conduct interviews. Has prior experience in filming and editing short-form videos for platforms like TikToks or Reels.
• Skills: Reliable in meeting content creation deadlines and delivering consistent output. Demonstrates a creative approach to content generation. Brings a funny and engaging personality to the role.
