The Tone:
This is an onsite, full-time early career position at XTRA Lease LLC, located at their rental facility in Irving, TX. XTRA Lease is the nation’s leader in semi-trailer renting and leasing, a Berkshire Hathaway business that provides critical equipment within the national supply chain. This Management Trainee position is designed to develop driven entry-level professionals into future leaders, teaching them the operational intricacies of a rental facility. This role is fundamental to maintaining XTRA Lease’s industry-leading service and ensuring smooth operations for customers like PepsiCo and FedEx, paving the way for significant career growth within the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Engagement: Serve clients such as PepsiCo and FedEx by determining their semi-trailer equipment needs and thoroughly explaining all available rental options.
• Fleet Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of semi-trailers using a hand-held device, checking for any damage or equipment problems both inside and underneath the unit.
• Account Management: Oversee customer accounts, which includes assisting with credit processing, managing collections, and verifying customer insurance coverage.
• Vendor Coordination: Assign necessary repair work to external vendors and internal XTRA Lease trailer mechanics to ensure equipment readiness.
• Operational Technology: Utilize various technologies to perform accurate inventories, efficiently manage equipment, and execute other critical operational tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Bachelor’s degree (strongly preferred); or 4 years of equivalent relevant experience in customer-facing rental operations or outside sales positions.
• Experience: 1-2 years of Customer Service experience; or 1-2 years of Sales Representative/Business Development experience. Must be willing to relocate out-of-state to another of our 50 nationwide facilities upon promotion into an Operations or Sales position.
• Skills: Strong customer service, including the ability to handle complaints and resolve issues; critical-thinking; self-starter; highly motivated; conscientious; management and leadership qualities, including the ability to train and develop lower-level employees.
