Internship – Front Office Business Operations (Fall 2026) | D.C. United

The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at D.C. United, located in Washington, DC, specifically designed for undergraduate or graduate students seeking hands-on experience. D.C. United is a professional soccer club committed to uplifting its community, staff, and club, striving for continued organizational growth and another MLS Cup. This internship offers exposure to cross-functional coordination, event planning, administrative support, and internal communications, providing crucial assistance for core organizational functions. The selected individual will gain practical experience by working closely with the Executive Assistant to the President of Business Operations and Office Manager, particularly within a fast-paced, game-day environment.

• Mission: To provide essential administrative, logistical, and communicative support for D.C. United’s front office, ensuring efficient daily operations and seamless game-day experiences, while gaining exposure to various core organizational functions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office 365 suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Game Day Operations: Coordinate logistics and administrative tasks for game days, including preparing executive suites, managing credential distribution, and organizing necessary supplies.
• Executive Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support for executive meetings, encompassing calendar management, drafting internal communications, and handling follow-up tasks.
• Office Management: Support daily operational needs to maintain an organized and efficient office environment for the broader business operations team.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as a departmental liaison for specific game-day initiatives and internal projects, ensuring smooth communication and execution across various teams.
• Data & Reporting: Conduct research, create presentations, and prepare reports as assigned, while also assisting in maintaining accurate records, databases, and filing systems.
• Event Assistance: Provide assistance with the planning and execution of internal team events, executive meetings, and client functions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field such as business administration, sports management, or communications. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Must be eligible to receive academic credit for the internship as it is unpaid. Requires familiarity with the Microsoft Office 365 suite for daily tasks.
• Skills: Possess strong interpersonal and organizational abilities to effectively manage diverse responsibilities; Demonstrate a proactive, detail-oriented, and dependable approach to all tasks; Exhibit professional written and verbal communication skills essential for internal and external interactions; Maintain the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure, especially in a dynamic, game-day environment; Show a willingness to learn and support a wide variety of projects and teams across the organization.
