Human Resources Internship | Sparton
The Tone:
This is an Human Resources Internship at Sparton, located in DeLeon Springs, FL. Sparton is a defense contractor operating in a non-union manufacturing environment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into HR operations within a defense industry setting. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience with HR programs, business practices, and daily operations, allowing the intern to contribute directly to the smooth functioning of the Human Resources department while understanding its critical role in supporting a manufacturing workforce.

• Mission: To provide administrative support and assist with HR operations, contributing to the efficient functioning of the department and employee satisfaction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources team, aiding in daily departmental functions.
• Accurately enter and maintain employee data across multiple HR systems and dedicated excel spreadsheets.
• Organize, schedule, and actively participate in the execution of various company events designed to support employee engagement and community within Sparton.
• Manage the employee exit process by reviewing exit surveys and scheduling follow-up exit interviews to gather feedback.
• Address and resolve routine employee queries, providing clear information, and assist in the distribution of company policies and important HR communications.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree from an accredited institution, or a recent graduate (within one year) of a bachelor’s or master’s program. Candidates must have a current class standing of sophomore or above, indicating at least 30 completed credits, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. All candidates must be 18 years of age or older and a U.S. Citizen, with degree progress or recent graduation verifiable as part of the hiring process.
• Experience: This internship does not require prior professional work experience, focusing instead on academic standing and foundational skills.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with essential business software, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook), email management, and Canva; strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks and data efficiently.
• Bonus: Previous experience in a support role such as a Staff Assistant or an entry-level Human Resources position is preferred.
