Order Operations Manager | Jimmy’s Gourmet Bakery
The Tone:

The manager will oversee EDI processes, manage order fulfillment, and champion continuous process improvement, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Team Development: Lead and develop the Customer Service team and the EDI Specialist, fostering a high-performance environment focused on exceptional service delivery.
• Manage Order Operations: Oversee the complete order lifecycle, from processing and validation to allocation and fulfillment, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries to customers.
• Resolve Critical Issues: Serve as the primary point of escalation for all customer concerns, deductions, and order discrepancies, proactively resolving issues to maintain strong customer relationships.
• Drive Operational Partnerships: Collaborate extensively with Sales, Production, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse, Inventory, Finance, and IT to ensure seamless interdepartmental workflows and support.
• Optimize EDI & Processes: Manage daily EDI operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution, while continually developing and improving customer service and EDI processes, collaborating with IT/ERP vendors to enhance system functionality and monitor key performance metrics like fill rates and order accuracy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager-level professional, preferably holding a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field, demonstrating core domain knowledge relevant to the role.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 5 years of dedicated customer service or order management experience within a manufacturing environment, coupled with proven leadership or supervisory experience and a strong background in managing EDI processes and customer order integrations. Previous food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Possesses strong knowledge of ERP systems, customer portals, and order management systems, alongside advanced problem-solving, communication, organizational, and analytical abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is also required for data analysis and reporting.
• Bonus: Familiarity with specific EDI transaction sets such as 850 (Purchase Order), 855 (PO Acknowledgment), 856 (Ship Notice/Manifest), 810 (Invoice), and 997 (Functional Acknowledgment) is preferred.
