General Manager | Builders FirstSource

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales and Profit Management: Directly oversee all aspects of the location, including professional and retail sales, operations, production, delivery logistics, purchasing, and inventory control to achieve maximum sales and profits.
• Operational Oversight: Implement and manage inventory control programs to meet desired inventory levels and turns, utilizing relevant functions and reports from the company’s Online system.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead recruiting, hiring, and training efforts, motivate employees, and maintain a productive workforce. This includes training successor management, reviewing and approving wage increases, and establishing performance objectives.
• Financial Acumen and Asset Management: Maintain budget accountability, establish standard costs and operating budgets, and monitor expenses to improve financial performance. Additionally, recommend capital improvements and institute a cost-effective vehicle and equipment maintenance program.
• Compliance and Culture: Ensure full compliance with company safety initiatives (OSHA, DOT), Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and all company policies and procedures. Act as a critical liaison between employees and management to foster a positive and healthy work environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: A minimum of four years of related managerial experience and/or training, with prior experience specifically within the building materials industry.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, staff management, cost consciousness, sound judgment, and effective oral communication.
