General Manager | Aramark

The Tone:
This is a leadership role at Aramark, located in the U.S. Aramark Student Nutrition provides essential food and nutrition services to over 350 school districts, offering diverse dining options from breakfast and lunch programs to catering and retail operations. As a General Manager, you will be instrumental in guiding multiple contracted services, directly impacting client objectives, financial performance, and the provision of stellar dining experiences that support student success. You will manage services ranging from food service to facilities support, leading a team to deliver excellent service.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, U.S. (specific client site)
• Pay: $90000–$105000 yearly
• Team: Leads a management team and staff
• Mission: To plan, manage, and guide multiple contracted services for a client to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives, and customer needs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Operational Teams: Guide a team providing operational expertise in contracted services, ensuring hands-on execution management of daily operations.
• Manage Client and Community Relationships: Oversee client and community relationships, continually assessing operations and developing plans to optimize service and satisfaction.
• Build and Develop Management Teams: Recruit, develop, and lead a management team and staff capable of achieving organizational objectives.
• Drive Service Improvement and Growth: Recommend and implement methods and resources for service improvement and growth based on operational needs and contractual obligations.
• Oversee Financial Performance and Compliance: Manage the department budget in collaboration with Finance to optimize financial performance and operational productivity, while ensuring compliance with all regulations, codes, and Aramark’s operational standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager-level professional with a bachelor’s degree highly preferred in Food Service, Hospitality, Facilities, or Business Management.
• Experience: Meaningful experience within the service industry, contract services, or a hospitality environment. Demonstrated ability to lead through other managers and prior experience in creating and managing a department budget, financial controls, and analysis. Experience crafting product sales strategies and implementing operational programs and initiatives is also required.
• Skills: A strong focus on client and customer services, coupled with entrepreneurial acumen for building and growing a strong business. Savvy interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication with clients, senior management, and Aramark support staff. The ability to read, understand, and implement contractual requirements, including identifying opportunities within contract terms, is also critical.
