Maintenance Director | Cameron Nursing Center

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Cameron Nursing Center, located in Independence, MO. Cameron Nursing Center provides a vital environment for residents, likely within a long-term care setting, focused on their well-being and rehabilitation. The Maintenance Director role is critically important for upholding environmental compliance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes. This position ensures the center is consistently maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition, free from hazards related to electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems, and also oversees quality laundry services, directly contributing to a safe and comfortable living space for residents.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Department Leadership: Supervise all Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas, managing budget, staffing, and interdepartmental issues while processing and maintaining records for accounts payable, supplies, and equipment maintenance.
• Compliance & Preventative Programs: Execute the company’s preventative maintenance program, ensuring environmental compliance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes, and documenting all maintenance activities, including parts and materials used.
• Facility Systems Management: Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, pick up work order requests, establish work priority, perform daily rounding inspections, and ensure proper functioning of power generation, time clocks, exhaust fans, and water systems.
• Safety & Hazard Control: Routinely check light bulbs, exit lights, water temperatures, circuit breakers, temperatures of walk-in coolers and freezers, and call-light systems, adjusting as needed to maintain a hazard-free environment.
• Emergency Preparedness & Resident Readiness: Conduct fire drills, check and lubricate all fire doors, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors, and manage the preparation of rooms for discharged or new residents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level. High school Diploma or equivalency with knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures in a commercial establishment.
• Experience: One to two years of supervisory experience in a commercial establishment.
• Skills: Environmental compliance (Federal, State, and Local ordinance, regulations, and building codes), preventative maintenance program execution, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, and supervisory leadership.
• Bonus: Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care.
