• Mission: Ensure the safe, secure, and professional transportation of residents and patients to essential medical appointments and community engagements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Service Coordination: Proactively schedule and meticulously coordinate all necessary transportation services, ensuring residents reach various appointments, activities, and other planned outings efficiently and on time.
• Direct Transportation: Safely and securely provide direct transportation for patients to crucial medical destinations including hospitals, medical offices, and dialysis centers, as well as to and from private residences, always maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Safety Assurance: Uphold the highest standards of resident safety at all times, diligently monitoring their well-being and security during the boarding and departing process of the vehicle, and throughout their entire journey.
• Vehicle Management: Assume full responsibility for the general upkeep and operational readiness of the transportation vehicle, which includes conducting thorough inspections, scheduling regular maintenance, and meticulously completing all required paperwork.
• Customer Care: Deliver an exceptional level of customer service and compassionate assistance to residents during all transport activities, ensuring a comfortable, respectful, and supportive experience from start to finish.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This Director-level position requires a foundational understanding of transportation logistics, resident safety protocols, and effective vehicle management within a healthcare or caregiving environment. The role demands an individual capable of managing critical services with a focus on patient well-being and operational efficiency.
• Experience: Candidates should ideally possess prior experience as a bus or van driver, demonstrating a history of safe and responsible vehicle operation. A strict eligibility requirement mandates that candidates must be between the ages of twenty-five (25) and seventy-four (74) years to comply with facility insurance policies.
• Skills: Essential skills include holding an active Illinois Driver’s License and successfully meeting all Department of Transportation (DOT) required vehicle licensure and physical standards. Proficiency in scheduling and coordinating complex transportation routes, along with strong capabilities in customer service, are paramount. Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and routine maintenance procedures is also necessary.
• Bonus: While not strictly required, a high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred, indicating a commitment to foundational education.
