The TL;DR

• Team: Leads Maintenance Service department; reports to the Administrator.
• Mission: Plans, organizes, develops, and directs the general and preventive maintenance of the physical plant and grounds.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance: Ensure the facility and department are maintained as required by regulation.
• Procurement: Manage the procurement of departmental supplies in accordance with policy.
• Policy Implementation: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining infection control, waste disposal, and Universal Precautions policies and procedures.
• Team Leadership: Provide daily supervision and guidance to Maintenance Service department employees and orient new staff to their duties.
• Grounds Maintenance: Ensure building appearance and accessibility by managing lawn, shrubs, snow removal, and debris cleanup.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level professional with a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Skills: Facility maintenance (including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting), regulatory compliance, supply chain management, team supervision, groundskeeping.
• Bonus: Previous long-term care experience; practical experience in basic repair and maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
